Energetics Incorporated, a wholly owned subsidiary of VSE Corporation, is a full-service technology and management consulting firm serving public- and private-sector clients. Our Origins

Energetics was founded in 1979 by a small group of engineers in Columbia, Maryland, who combined their consulting practices. They named the company after the term "energetics," which is a branch of mechanics that deals with energy and its transformations. The original owners chose this as an appropriate name because of the focus of the work they planned to do ― primarily to provide consulting services to offices within the U.S. Department of Energy.

In 1995, Energetics was acquired by VSE Corporation, which provided the company with a new opportunity for growth and diversification. VSE retained Energetics' management team and operates the company as a wholly owned subsidiary, with its own corporate structure and an independent president.

For the past 30 years, Energetics has enjoyed steady growth. What began with a few employees in a small office has grown into a thriving company with over 160 employees located among three offices: our headquarters in Columbia, Maryland; our suite of offices in a secured office complex in downtown Washington DC; and in an office in Arlington, Virginia.
