Developed through an unprecedented collaborative effort of industry leaders, the 2006 Roadmap to Secure Control Systems in the Energy Sector outlined a 10-year vision to secure the nation's energy control systems against cyber attack. Asset owners and other stakeholders defined the challenges to meeting that vision and developed specific goals and milestones to guide efforts in the electric, oil, and natural gas industries.

The ieRoadmap is an interactive tool designed to enable researchers to map their R&D efforts to specific strategies and challenges identified in the Roadmap. It provides up-to-date information on control systems security activities and aids the sector in measuring progress, identifying research gaps, and finding potential areas of collaboration.
