2008 ieRoadmap Workshop Call for Presenters
The Energy Sector Control Systems Working Group (ESCSWG) announces the first-ever ieRoadmap Workshop will be held in Chicago, Illinois on May 28-29, 2008.
The workshop will specifically focus on research activities to secure control systems in the energy sector. The aim is to foster among the ESCSWG, asset owners and operators, researchers, and other industry members an exchange of technical information and ideas that align with Roadmap goals.
Workshop Benefits
During the workshop, presenters will have the opportunity to discuss their control systems security research with the ESCSWG and other stakeholders, who will provide valuable feedback on how each project aligns with the Roadmap goals and potential ways to improve the relevance of project results. By participating in the workshop, program managers in government and private industry will gain a better understanding of the relevance of each project to the Roadmap. In addition, the workshop will be open to all energy sector stakeholders, providing a forum to raise industry awareness and improve industry uptake of each developing technology or service in the future.
Workshop Sponsor
Established in December 2007, the ESCSWG consists of private sector and government leaders working to facilitate and guide the implementation of the Roadmap to Secure Control Systems in the Energy Sector. The ESCSWG was formed by the Electric Sector Coordinating Council (SCC), the Oil & Natural Gas SCC, and the Government Coordinating Council (GCC) under the auspices of the Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council (CIPAC), established under the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP). Submission Guidelines
The ESCSWG invites researchers to map their work to industry Roadmap goals by posting projects to the ieRoadmap.
Since the ieRoadmap was introduced in 2007, more than 80 projects have been posted to the website. These projects have already been nominated for the workshop. However, it is critical that all relevant research be considered to help the industry further map its progress. By posting your project, you can nominate yourself to present your work to the ESCSWG and other industry stakeholders at this workshop.
To nominate your project, please register yourself through the ieRoadmap and add your project by Friday, April 25. (This is separate from registering to attend the workshop). Projects will be considered by the ESCSWG on the basis of alignment with Roadmap goals. Notification of acceptance and a draft agenda will be sent to researchers by Thursday, May 1.
To attend the workshop as a presenter or participant, please register.
The workshop will examine ongoing energy control systems initiatives and identify how each research activity has synergy and alignment with Roadmap goals. If you are leading a project that fits within the strategic framework of the Roadmap, we encourage you to nominate it to be a part of this important workshop effort.
Presentation Guidelines
Given the limited time available, we have restricted the project presentations to 30 minutes each. Learn more about workshop details.
