Attend the U.S. Department of Energy Peer Review of NSTB Projects

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Ever wonder how and why DOE allocates resources to enhance the reliability and security of the Nation's energy infrastructure? Would you like an opportunity to be a part of the process?

Participate in the U.S. Department of Energy's Visualization and Controls Program Peer Review. Learn firsthand about 18 research projects led by the National SCADA Test Bed (NSTB) Program. Interact with energy industry leaders working on the latest innovations to improve the security and reliability of the Nation's energy infrastructure.

The NSTB Program aims to reduce the risk of energy disruptions due to cyber attacks; to do so, it supports R&D projects that focus on addressing the challenges identified in the Roadmap to Secure Control Systems in the Energy Sector (PDF 2.1 MB). As part of the more than 100 projects listed in the ieRoadmap (interactive energy Roadmap), the NSTB projects are working toward the Roadmap vision by modernizing the energy infrastructure and enhancing its security and reliability—key missions of DOE's Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability.

Industry representatives from the Energy Sector Control Systems Working Group will serve as reviewers for NSTB Program projects, providing project teams with an expert, unbiased assessment of strengths, weaknesses, and specific recommendations that would improve the project.

Experience has shown that industry input is required to ensure that research results are applicable to all energy utilities. Participate in this unique opportunity to ensure NSTB Program projects continue to provide the information and technologies utilities need to make their operations more robust and resilient.

The peer review is open to the public and will be held Oct. 21-22 at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington, D.C. Register for this event at https://events.energetics.com/v&c08.

We look forward to your participation!
