National Data Center Energy Efficiency Strategy Workshop
Convened by U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Tuesday, July 8
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Since publication of EPA's report to Congress in the summer of 2007 there have been many developments in the data center field (active development of metrics and standards, maturing industry and utility groups) as well as the broader world (climate change, energy prices). In support of the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) National Data Center Energy Efficiency Information Program, the DOE and EPA are convening this workshop to provide an opportunity for all data center energy efficiency stakeholders to look at the big picture of how government and industry are advancing toward the goal of improved energy efficiency in data centers. We will review progress made and discuss expanded or new initiatives that are needed to help fully realize the goal of greatly improved energy efficiency in data centers. The outcome of the workshop will be to identify a series of next steps that the government can take to fully leverage and complement industry, utilities, and other stakeholder activities.
Who Should Attend?
Data center industry associations, Data Center operators/end users, Equipment and service providers, Building designers and managers, Corporate energy managers, Utilities, Government representatives, Energy efficiency policy makers and advocates.
