Propane

Propane, also known as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), is a low-carbon fuel that can be stored and transported easily to nearly every part of the world. Produced during petroleum refining and natural gas processing, propane is used for cooking, heating homes, and providing hot water. Propane is also used to fuel forklifts, school buses, ground service equipment, and other vehicles, as well as in a variety of agricultural applications. Understanding and extending the efficiency and environmental advantages of propane requires expert analysis and accelerated development and deployment of new propane utilization equipment.

Energetics works with clients such as the Propane Education & Research Council and the World LP Gas Association to create research and development strategies, conduct analytical studies, and communicate about new technologies. Our work provides insights into how propane compares to other energy choices and helps to accelerate the development and deployment of new technologies that take advantage of propane’s unique characteristics, improving the lives of consumers while reducing global carbon dioxide emissions.
