Automotive
News stories abound on the plight of the nation’s automakers. The auto industry is striving to improve its competitive position by collaborating with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) on revolutionary hybrid and vehicle systems and more efficient manufacturing processes. Meanwhile, the automotive industry is working to improve the performance and appeal of new vehicles by pursuing collaborative innovation programs with important suppliers.
Energetics analyzes energy consumption, evaluates new vehicle technologies and manufacturing processes, and helps automotive companies build partnerships with appropriate government programs. Energetics supports several DOE-auto industry collaborations, including:
- FreedomCAR and 21st Century Truck partnerships
- Fuel Cell Technologies Program
- U.S. Council for Automotive Research (USCAR) manufacturing energy reduction activities
We also work with the American Chemistry Council’s Plastics Division to plan plastic and composite vehicle strategy in partnership with automotive manufacturers, their suppliers, and government agencies.
