The U.S. steel industry — on its own and in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) — is actively pursuing options for reducing the carbon emissions associated with iron and steel production. Continued investigation of transformational technologies and processes will help this critical domestic industry secure a position at the forefront of modern manufacturing.

Energetics provides technical expertise to DOE and the steel industry and supports collaborative research partnerships between the two. We have a long history of evaluating new technologies and benchmarking energy use and emissions for ironmaking and steelmaking.
