Compliance and Certification
Monitoring compliance with standards, codes, and rules is important to ensure that the intended specifications are being met. Compliance programs provide a consistent approach for achieving the benefits of rulemaking and legislation, and provide insights to the difficulties that may arise in code enforcement. Certification is a diverse concept and may take many forms. It can refer to certification of skills and training, or certification of specified attributes related to a technology or facility. Related to certification is validation and verification (V&V), which is typically conducted to verify technology performance under controlled conditions ― a process which ultimately reduces risk and makes investment more attractive.
Energetics has been involved in a number of areas related to compliance and certification programs, including the following:

- Industrial plant certification for ISO 50001 energy management standards
- Safety and Preparedness certification for facilities
- Accreditation for third-party finance training for Federal Energy Management
- Evaluation of certified trades in the nuclear industry
- Certificates of training on energy efficiency and renewable programs, including Energy STAR, for public housing and publicly funded housing
- Third-party V&V of new technologies (microturbines, fuel cells and batteries, control systems and models)
