Bill Owens Joins Energetics as Vice President

Energetics Incorporated is pleased to announce today that Dr. William R. Owens has joined the company as Vice President, Engineering Services. The addition of Dr. Owens to Energetics' staff is a key component of the company's strategy to strengthen and grow its consulting practice in clean fossil fuel energy systems.

Dr. Owens has distinguished himself in many years of service as a senior executive with firms including PERI, LTI, and Parsons, where he worked for 27 years and managed a series of major site support contracts with the Department of Energy's Office of Coal and Power Systems. Bill will focus his practice at Energetics on providing engineering services to federal clients carrying out the national programs in clean fossil fuel energy systems.

"Bill Owens is the perfect addition to our capability at this point in time, when new opportunities exist to help the country transition to clean fuels as part of a more resilient, sustainable energy infrastructure. His experience and impeccable record of accomplishment in fossil fuel systems provide us with a new, more technical dimension as well as proven management capability to handle major programs. Bill's common-sense leadership approach and strong reputation for integrity and professionalism were amply demonstrated to us during prior years in which Energetics worked for him as a subcontractor," said Jim Reed, President.

Dr. Owens was formerly an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, and has written more than fifty technical publications and reports in the research, engineering, and application of advanced fossil energy power systems. He holds a B.S. from Penn State, M.S. from Drexel University, and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, all in mechanical engineering.
