To help families in need this holiday season, Energetics’ headquarters in Columbia, MD, is continuing its annual Angel Tree tradition in cooperation with Family and Children’s Services of Central Maryland (FCS). Through this popular activity, Energetics employees have spread holiday cheer since the mid 1990s.
This year, the company asked to adopt two families with young children and one senior citizen from FCS. In addition, one Energetics employee knew of a family that recently lost everything in a fire; those children also have tags on the Angel Tree.
Throughout December, employees will gather warm clothes, toys, household goods, and gift cards to fulfill the needs and wishes listed on the Angel Tree tags. Monetary donations and gently used toys or household items are also being collected for distribution by FCS.
Near the end of the month, volunteers will take stock of the donations, ensure that all tags are accounted for, and deliver the gifts to FCS for distribution.
Paget Donnelly, one of the organizers of the Angel Tree, says FCS is always appreciative of Energetics’ enthusiastic participation in the program. “They remember Energetics from year to year because of our employees’ unfailing generosity,” says Ms. Donnelly.
