To help clients determine the most cost-effective sites for installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, Energetics developed a tool to compare multiple site characteristics.

Energetics developed a tool to assist local officials with identifying suitable locations for new charging stations. The EV Station Site Suitability Criteria Tool was created in the course of performing work sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Energetics worked with the Ithaca–Tompkins County Transportation Council on a range of activities related to charging infrastructure deployments in the area. The Excel-based tool collects and analyzes site information to assign a suitability score for potential sites based on their characteristics, addressing questions of location, access, costs, and suitability of charging station technologies.

Energetics also developed a web-based survey tool to assess community readiness for EVs. The survey tool incorporates a series of questions and possible responses about charging infrastructure, codes and standards, vehicle deployment, and other aspects of community support for EVs.
