Energetics developed this brochure with the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) to identify the economic and energy benefits of incorporating nanomaterials into commercial processes and products, as well as ITP’s R&D objectives to address the challenges facing nanomanufacturing.
Client Need
Recognizing the value of the unique material properties achievable through nanotechnology, ITP is trying to incorporate nanomaterials into commercial processes and products and had the need to create and disseminate materials regarding nanomanufacturing processes and the benefits of the technology.
Solution
This brochure helped increase knowledge and awareness of ITP nanomanufacturing R&D, which can speed the introduction of nano-enabled products into global markets, increasing energy efficiency, energy supply, and the position of the United States as a competitor in the market.
Results
This program is expected to 1) develop low-cost manufacturing processes to expand the near-term commercial use of innovative nanomaterials; and 2) develop technologies to enable the expanded use of nanomaterials, either directly or indirectly.
