The Commission on Environmental Cooperation (CEC) needed assistance in facilitating meetings to address environmental issues of continental concern, paying particular attention to the environmental challenges and opportunities presented by continent-wide free trade. These meetings were focused on three different areas, held in three different locations: Climate Change – Low Carbon Economy (held in Mexico City, Mexico); Greening the Economy in North America (held in Ottawa, Canada); and Healthy Communities and Ecosystems (held in Washington, DC).

 

Using a high-level meeting facilitation process, Energetics facilitators drew on their experience with international clients to elicit input from government experts and representatives from environmental, energy, and other organizations within each country to help create a five-year strategic plan for the CEC.

 

The input from the sessions will help the CEC to derive a set of trilateral, cooperative programmatic initiatives to support CEC’s strategic priorities for 2010-2015.
