This project involved development of a vision of the future for America's electric power system in terms of policies, markets, and technologies, and obtaining buy-in to that vision from a wide range of key stakeholders and decision makers from the public and private sector from across the country.
Energetics conducted research into the history of today's power system, analyzed the key factors shaping the future, and facilitated a workshop of 50 top executives and government officials to brainstorm visions of what the future grid should be. Through an extensive outreach and review process, the various ideas were shaped into a single vision, which was used as a basis for the National Electric Delivery Technologies Roadmap.
Considered "Version 1.0," this vision is currently used by the U.S. Department of Energy to guide directions and priorities for research and development.
