The plastics industry wanted to outline the research and development advances needed to meet future automotive requirements through the use of plastics. The resulting roadmap would be used to guide collaborative R&D efforts between plastics and automotive companies and joint R&D programs with federal agencies such as the Department of Energy and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Energetics worked with ACC PD to develop a roadmap that outlines a technology strategy for advancing automotive performance through the use of plastics.

The roadmap, developed in consultation with the automotive industry and government agencies, is being used by ACC PD to establish an innovation platform for the automotive industry based on plastics and polymer composites.
