The result of a unique collaboration among more than 25 sector stakeholders, this roadmap identifies goals and near-term priority activities to help the Water Sector Coordinating Council (SCC) achieve its vision of a secure and resilient drinking water and wastewater infrastructure.
Client Need
Representing the industry side of the water sector’s industry-government partnership, the SCC needed an effective plan that would unify the sector and aid it in operating efficiently and focusing on the highest priority issues to address escalating security needs and improvements.
Solution
Bringing together SCC members, owners and operators, associations, and subject matter experts, Energetics facilitated two strategic planning workshops that brought participants together to determine the trends and drivers affecting the water sector, goals and tactics for securing the sector in 2008–2009, challenges to meeting those goals, and top-priority activities the SCC can implement over the next 12 months. Our skilled team of analysts, technical writers, and graphic designers documented and analyzed outcomes to prepare the final document.
Results
The roadmap is helping utilities participate in the full range of infrastructure protection activities available to them. Because the document presents timely, near-term goals and priorities, the SCC plans to update it annually.
