Energetics helped the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) bring government and private-sector partners together to develop a shared understanding of pandemic preparedness needs, and formulated sector-specific outreach materials to inform critical infrastructure owners and operators of key issues for business continuity.
Client Need
DHS wanted to identify key preparedness considerations necessary to ensure the continued operation of critical U.S. infrastructure in the case of an influenza pandemic.
Solution
Energetics staff brought together representatives of DHS, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other federal agencies, and most critical infrastructure sectors to share knowledge and raise awareness of pandemic characteristics and business continuity considerations. Following these discussions, Energetics developed sector-specific communication and outreach materials for critical infrastructure owners and operators and also produced a white paper examining several critical elements of pandemic preparedness and response.
Results
As a result of participating in the pandemic mapping process, key stakeholders developed a shared understanding of the ways in which the government and the private sector can support each other in a pandemic situation.
