Energetics researched, analyzed, and synthesized information on over 30 technologies that can enhance the electric delivery system. The covered technologies correspond to the ones listed in Section 1224, Advanced Transmission Technologies, of Senate Bill S. 2095 (similar to the draft Energy Legislation). The briefs are organized into five topic areas: Conductors and Cables, Intelligence Controls, Modular Equipment, Energy Storage, and Distributed Energy. Each technology brief includes a technical description, cost and performance characteristics, market applications, future technology goals (if applicable), and a technology readiness paragraph that describes the commercial availability of the technology.
Energetics developed technology briefs to provide regulators, state elected officials, and other decision makers with an overview of advanced grid-enhancing technology.
