Ocean technologies are gaining momentum in Europe, though there is no federally funded R&D program at this time. Energetics was asked to investigate the permitting process for wave power technologies, in collaboration with the Electric Power Research Institute. We prepared a technical paper entitled: "Wave Power in the US: Permitting and Jurisdictional Issues" This was the first paper that summarized the regulatory issues relevant to demonstrations of wave power devices.
