The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability received more than 400 proposals in response to the $3.4 billion Smart Grid Investment Grant (SGIG) funding opportunity issued under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. DOE required that applications undergo a comprehensive review process to ensure selected proposals met with department objectives.

Energetics customized its comprehensive online evaluation system, which seamlessly and paperlessly handled multiple independent merit reviews, programmatic reviews, and the selection process in a secure manner with full documentation and real-time monitoring.  We also conducted an extensive reviewer recruitment effort and assigned reviewers to each application, facilitated specialized programmatic reviews and the final selection process, and provided extensive reports to the client.

President Obama announced the selection of 100 awardees in the largest grid modernization investment in U.S. history. Grants will fund a broad range of technologies to promote energy-saving choices for consumers, increase energy efficiency, and foster the growth of renewable energy sources.
