Energetics plans, conducts, and evaluates training programs for federal facility managers, agency and facility energy coordinators, procurement officials, utility acquisition officials, and other federal customers and industry stakeholders.
Client Need
The Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) directed FEMP to conduct government-wide Energy Savings Performance Contracting training for federal procurement and contracting officials. Other federal authorities (e.g., Energy Policy Act of 2005, E.O. 13423 and 13514) also direct FEMP to provide agencies with guidance and technical assistance on a variety of topics to help agencies achieve mandated energy and water conservation goals.
Solution
Energetics' third-party financing team develops and conducts government-wide Energy Savings Performance Contracting and Utility Energy Services Contract on-site workshops and webinars throughout the year to ensure that federal officials develop expert knowledge of third-party financing options for implementing energy-management projects in federal facilities. The Energetics team also plans and conducts the annual GovEnergy Workshop and Tradeshow, which is cosponsored by seven federal agencies with over 100 individual technical and policy-implementation training sessions.
Results
The ESPC and UESC training workshops and webinars have trained over 2,500 people (federal officials or federal contractors working on government projects). The GovEnergy Workshop and Tradeshow, which is considered the premier energy conference for federal officials and industry stakeholders, attracted over 3,000 participants in 2009.
