Introduction

The 2007 Wire Development Workshop is being sponsored by the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability (OE), U.S. Department of Energy’s Superconductivity Program for Electric Power Systems. Leading U.S. scientists and engineers from national laboratories, universities, and industries will discuss the current status of the second-generation wires, electric power prototype demonstrations and will also address possible second generation conductor engineering designs that could meet power application requirements. The workshop will be held at the Bay Point Marriott, Panama City Beach, Florida, January 16-17, 2007.
