Project: Manufacturing Energy and Carbon Footprints, 2018

Our experts led the update of DOE’s Manufacturing Energy and Carbon Footprints, which quantify the extent of energy supply, demand, losses, and associated GHG emissions across critical industries. Each footprint shows the flow of energy to major end uses, including boilers, combined heat and power systems, process heating, lighting, and HVAC. The footprints cover 15 subsectors representing 94% of all primary energy use in manufacturing. Interactive Sankey diagrams available online.
